Boston 2017 :  FORUM ACUSTICUM once again with ASA meeting - more information

As already decided in the EAA GA Assembly held in Aalborg (2011), the 8th FORUM ACUSTICUM in 2017 will be a joint event with the Acoustical Society of America in combination with the 173rd ASA meeting and will be held in Boston (MA) from 25 to 29 June 2017. It will be the first time that a big event co-organized by EAA will cross the Atlantic and will be held in USA. The previous cases of collaboration between EAA and ASA were the joint FORUM ACUSTICUM and ASA meetings in Berlin (1999) and Paris (2008).

The Israeli Acoustical Association (IAA) is the newest member of our Association. The IAA has been accepted as an associate member of EAA. The decision was made at the EAA Board held last April in Berlin and was approved by the General Assembly of EAA held in Krakow. We welcome the Israeli acousticians as the new members of our family.

President of the Israeli Acoustical Association is Prof. Boaz Rafaely from the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.

The Acoustical Society of Iceland has a new board. New President is Ólafur Daníelsson from EFLA consulting Engineers, new Secretary is  Jakob Tryggvason from Exton and new treasurer is Kristín Ómarsdóttir from EFLA consulting Engineers.

The 7^th National Conference of the Hellenic Institute of Acoustics was held in the town of Thessaloniki on 20 and 21 October 2014. The Conference was attended by more than 110 participants many of whom were students of Acoustics. 55 papers were presented covering all areas of acoustics. The Genaral Assembly and the elections of HELINA were held on Monday October 20^th. Following the decision of the new board, new President of The Hellenic Institute of Acoustics is Prof. Nick Tsinikas from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
