YEAR 2013
The Portuguese Acoustical Society, as has happened in 2011, streamlined a noise monitoring campaign during this day, at national level, in public visible locations. This campaign had the participation of 27 laboratories that voluntarily acceded to perform environmental noise measurements. The results of this campaign were published on the Portuguese Acoustical Society website, having also been sent to the press. Also a comparative analysis between the values obtained in 2011 and 2013, was carried out, for measurements that had taken place in the same location/spot.

YEAR 2011
In order to promote awareness about the effects of noise in the health and well-being, the Portuguese Society of Acoustics (SPA) edited a publication (Figure 2) on noise directed to future generations (young students). Also the SPA streamlined a noise monitoring campaign during the day in public visibility locations at national level. This campaign had the participation of 33 laboratories that performed acoustic measurements at 40 locations over Portugal. For this, a poster (Figure 1) was distributed over the municipalities, universities, acoustical laboratories and press.
The launch of the publication and presentation of the results of environmental noise measurement campaign was carried out on the same day, in a public event that took place at LNEC, in the evening of April 27.
In the sequence of the press communications a video was made in this day related with the measuring campaign made in Lisbon
